Juvederm

Juvederm is an injectable gel that is made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). It is among the brands of injectable dermal fillers that seeks to correct the various signs of aging on the human facial skin. 

The great thing about a filler made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is that it is merely replacing the substance we already have in your skin.  Juvederm is a smooth blend of HA, which is a natural substance that can be found in all living organisms especially the soft connective tissue in the body, as well as the fluids surrounding the eyes.

This type is used for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds in the skin, as well as plump the skin. Once the treatment is completed, it can last up to 18 months and is one of the “workhorses” in the Juvederm family. 

JUVEDERM VOLBELLA XC

Juvederm Volbella XC is only used for areas of the face that need a subtle improvement.  Areas like the lips and the surrounding area have always been a place where Vobella is used a great deal. When injected in these areas, it helps to plump the lip lines and wrinkles. This treatment can last up to a year. 

JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC

Juvederm Voluma XC is a dermal filler of injectable gel treatment specifically meant to be administered deep into the cheek region. This helps to restore the volume underneath the surface of the skin that has been depleted as part of the natural aging process. Once the treatment is completed, it can help patients look up to five years younger. A single treatment can last up to two years. 

JUVEDERM ULTRA XC

This type of Juvederm is meant for perioral (around the mouth) rejuvenation and lip enhancement. It can treat the stubborn folds around the mouth and It can help to create voluptuous and natural plump lips, thereby creating a beautiful balance in the lower face.

Juvederm Ultra XC outcomes can sustain for up to one year with patients still having the same natural-looking appearance. 

JUVEDERM ULTRA PLUS XC

This type of Juvederm is a denser and slightly thicker brand of filler injection compared to the others and is administered deeper into the skin. For patients wanting dramatic outcomes with their treatment, the Juvederm Ultra Plus XC can help to achieve this while still maintaining natural-looking angles and proportions.

How Juvederm works

The quantity of the HA in our body reduces due to several reasons such as age, sunlight, environmental disasters as well as other factors.

The reduction of HA in our body, therefore, causes the skin to lose its structure and volume, which inevitably results in facial wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth.  

Juvederm has been known to be a safe and effective way to help replace the loss of HA in our skin and aid in bringing back the structure and volume.  

The procedure for injecting Juvederm gel usually doesn’t take that long and most individuals can be treated in under 1 hour.  All of the Juvederm products have powered lidocaine in them to help with any pain.  Plus, our office can provide topical anesthetic creams to diminish any uncomfortable sensation during the procedure.

Results from the injection are visible immediately after the procedure is completed. This is because Hyaluronic Acid helps to absorb water quickly and so small areas of fullness often appear within a few hours after treatment. 

There might be slight bruising on the injection site, which usually disappears within a few hours or the next day.
